Kings Avenue Flats

Kings Avenue was purchased through auction with the benefit of planning to convert the existing dilapidated mansion house into four lateral flats. However, Formål recognised that the existing property was undersized relative to some of its neighbours and that there lay great potential in the 100m long, overgrown, rear garden.

With the expert guidance of Martin Evans Architects, whom had already executed similar schemes on the same road, planning was achieved for a greatly improved scheme of seven flats and two modern semi-detached houses.

The design approach was to respect the ecology of the existing woodland site, whilst creating modern homes for the young local market. Stark white kitchen and bathroom finishes were paired with soft wooden tones in the floors and detailing to create an interesting contrast of materials.

The flats were all under offer within two weeks of launching and achieved record prices for the area.
