The former photographic studio was bought with planning consent for it to be demolished and replaced by a scheme of nine new homes. This included three townhouses, and six flats.
The industrial design of the new building pays homage to the commercial history of its predecessor. Large Crittal style windows cover its elevations and make the interiors of these high-ceilinged, neo-industrial units feel bright and airy. Industrial features are contrasted with touches of modern luxury to create interesting yet supremely comfortable homes.
Bellenden Road is popular not only for its unusual name, but also as one of the most desirable roads in the area. The site is positioned only a short walk from the amenities of both Peckham High Street and Peckham Rye. Surrounded by quiet Victorian residential streets, but with the hustle and bustle of the local entertainment scene on its doorstep, Bellenden Road is a perfect mixture of comfort and convenience.
The completed scheme was launched in June 2020. There are two houses remaining.
